This year marks the foundation of the north german five-member Metal outfit black elegy holding high the flags of crushing Death Metal, symphonic Goth Metal and melancholic Doom Metal. This versatile mixture, enriched with lots of thrilling melodies and a variety of influences from all over the Metal camp, can be heard on the band‘s latest output:
Deconstruct : Reconstruct
The three songs of this MCD come up with a total playing time of over 27 minutes. 27 minutes to make exactly clear what‘s what.
Walking down memory lane… In early 2009 the founding members Tjark, Jan & Fabian (Storm of Sorrows) teamed up with Ann-Kristin (Accid Reign) who contributed a tempting note with her vocal performance and David (Defrakt, Storm of Sorrows) on drums.
In July 2009 experienced producer Eike Freese (Dark Age) took charge of the recordings in the halls of the Eikey Studio in Hamburg and one thing‘s clear: he really knows how to put a record straight!
The moody, yet indicting and striking artwork was made by Fabian (www.sourcepulse.biz) and fits the lyrical concept of the MCD: the perversion and manipulation of moral/ethic values in the cloke
of religion!
...the story continues... The band‘s currently completing a live-lineup to perform onstage soon and writing new material for the upcoming, yet untitled full length album. Stay tuned!
