| In September of 2006, Marius (guitar/vocals), Sascha (guitar) and Phil (drums) had the idea to have a rehearsal and to cover some Metallica for their fun. All of the three had played in several music formations before and so the day of the rehearsal was great. But as there can be seen by now, it did not stay some „afternoon-fun“. Just days later, they decided to start a band. The only piece still missing was a bassplayer, but soon Peter was found and joined them. So, the band was complete and after some weeks, their name was born: DEAD END. Until the beginning of 2007, DEAD END played some cover-shows in their area and in the meanwhile they started to develop their own style. With time, their sound went to be way harder and more agressive. Inspired by bands like BRING ME THE HORIZON, PARKWAY DRIVE and THE BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, the band started to write their own material. On April 20th of 2007 they played their first real show which also was a big success. In the following months they played many shows in their near surrounding and got much practice in playing together and acting on stage. After their first small headline-show in September of 2007 they took part in the Global Battle of The Bands and played two shows in Cologne. Inspired by the great experiences, the four kept writing more new songs and played more and more shows. But, as in every band, a change happened at the end of 2007.The style of their music had become even more agressive and the vocals had become rougher and also the musical interests of Marius, Phil and Peter got much different from Sascha's interests. Because of these differences, Sascha finally left the band. Immediately, a new leadguitarplayer was found: Dominik. Just one week after joining DEAD END, he played his first two shows with them and he fitted into the band like no one else could. In February of 2008 the band decided to record their first EP „FOR THE BLESSED“. The recordings went on for 3 months in the studio of Marco Schäfer (COUNT MY FEARS), who did a great job in mixing and mastering the CD.
