Englischsprachige Rock Pop Musik, beeinflusst durch Bands und Künstler wie Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Cat Stevens, Simon and Garfunkel oder auch Led Zeppelin.
Die Wurzeln der enorm eingängigen Musik von The Talkies liegen eindeutig in den 70ern; in den Texten befassen sich The Talkies mit Protest an der Gesellschaft, Politik und Krieg. Viel Liebe, aber auch
Schmerz und Tod, eine ganz eigene offene und revolutionäre Haltung dem Leben gegenüber. Initiator, Songwriter und Sänger der Band ist Bjoern Eilen.
Band History:
In einem winzig kleinen Zimmer unterm Dach in der Frankfurter Innenstadt begann die Geschichte der Rock Pop Band The Talkies, Ende 2004. Bjoern schrieb den Song "Runaway Child", der ihn nicht mehr
loslässt und den Beginn der Talkies darstellt. Nach einigen Solo Performances begann er mit den Aufnahmen für das Debut Album "Paradise", das 2007 das Licht der Welt erblicken wird. "Step Into My Dream" ist der Teaser-Song der Talkies, der online weltweit bislang auf über 70 Music Communities und Internet Radio Stations läuft. Tendenz steigend.
THE TALKIES are a brand new rock/pop band originated by Bjoern Eilen, producer and guitarist of SILVER MAIDEN. Musical roots of THE TALKIES are the late 60's and the 70's, their spirit of protest, the ideal of freedom and love which is lost somehow nowadays. Music is more than a job or a possibility to earn a lot of money. It says more about feelings, love or the truth about you and me than words can. Even rock music is a unique language and a form of protest. It’s a shame when you turn on the TV you see and hear things mankind really doesn’t need. I always try to imagine what people in 500 or maybe a 1000 years would think about our current society as a whole. I certainly hope we are not the last people on earth. We need not act as if we were the all knowing great generation. We are not. Life goes on. Well, I know that our songs don’t make this world any better, but I hope you take the time to listen and let them inspire you to share some love with those who really need it...
